The Line: Miami Marlins -109 / San Francisco Giants -101 --- Over/Under: 8
Over at Marlins Park on Wednesday, the San Francisco Giants and the Miami Marlins will be continuing their MLB series.
On Monday, the Marlins managed a 7-5 victory. In the Tuesday game, Miami scored all their runs in the third inning in a 3-1 win.
For Wednesday’s matchup, the Giants will be bringing out LHP Andrew Suarez. In his 48.0 innings and 2-4 record this year, Suarez has a 5.06 ERA with 47 Ks and nine walks.
Brandon Crawford is the Giants’ top hitter this year with 75 hits, 28 runs and 31 RBI entering Tuesday. In game two, Crawford had one RBI.
Over on the Marlins’ side, they’re going with Caleb Smith on Wednesday. Over 65.2 innings and a 5-6 record this year, Smith has a 3.70 ERA with 79 Ks and 30 BBs.
Leading the way for the Marlins in hitting this season is Brian Anderson with 77 hits, 36 runs and 32 RBI coming into game two. On Tuesday, Anderson put up a hit and a run.
The Giants are 4-0 in their last four during game three of a series and 3-7 in their last 10 road games versus a left-handed starter. The over is 6-1 in San Francisco’s last seven Wednesday games and 5-2 in their last seven in game three of a series.
Meanwhile, the Marlins are 7-20 in their last 27 in game three of a series and 8-17 in their last 25 games versus a left-handed starter. The under is 6-0 in the Marlins’ last six in game three of a series and the under is 6-1 in their last seven home games versus a left-handed starter.
Suarez has ben up and down lately, with zero earned in 7.0 innings against Philly, and a combined 21 earned across four of his last five outings. Smith has been fairly choppy himself, but does have a combined three earned in three of his last four starts. I can’t trust Suarez here so I’m taking the Marlins.
