Miami Marlins +155 / Tampa Bay Rays -165 O/U: 7.5
The Tampa Bay Rays and the Miami Marlins will finish up their quick two-game MLB series on Wednesday.
In the Tuesday matchup, Tampa Bay peppered in single runs across four innings for a 4-0 shutout victory.
For Wednesday’s game, the Rays will be going with Ryne Stanek in the start. Stanek is 0-1 with a 2.57 ERA this year along with 21 Ks.
Tampa Bay logged eight hits in the Tuesday game, and three of them came courtesy of Avisail Garcia, who finished with three hits, three RBI and a run.
Over on the Marlins’ side, they’re going with Jose Urena on Wednesday. Urena is 1-5 this year and sports a 4.82 ERA alongside his 32 strikeouts.
Miami logged six hits in the Tuesday loss. Neil Walker was the only Marlin with two hits in that one.
The Rays are 20-8 in their last 28 in game two of a series and 0-4 in their last four Wednesday games. The over is 9-4 in Tampa’s last 13 Wednesday games and the under is 4-1 in their last five versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.
Meanwhile, the Marlins are 5-16 in their last 21 in game two of a series and 1-7 in their last eight Wednesday games. Miami is 1-5 in Urena’s last six Wednesday starts and 1-7 in his last eight starts overall.
Urena hasn’t been spot-on at times this season, but lately he’s been putting up some lengthy appearances with at least six innings in five straight starts. At home this year, Urena hasn’t had a whole lot of luck, with a 1-3 record and a 5.86 ERA.
I like Urena to pitch well here (he usually does that versus Tampa), but ultimately not get much support on the other side. I’m taking the Rays for the win.
