Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Rays and Miami Marlins meet Tuesday in MLB action at Marlins Park.

The Tampa Bay Rays look for another victory after winning eight of their last 10 games. The Rays have scored 10 runs in their last three games and three or less runs in five of their last six games. The Tampa Bay Rays have won five of their last eight games when scoring three or less runs. Matt Duffy leads the Rays with 85 hits and 25 RBI while Wilson Ramos and C.J. Cron have combined for 146 hits and 82 RBI. The Rays didn’t list a starting pitcher at the time this article was posted.

The Miami Marlins look for a victory here after splitting their last 12 games. The Marlins have scored 10 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in five of their last 10 games. The Miami Marlins have won six of their last eight games when scoring at least three runs. Stalin Castro leads the Mariners with 96 hits and 31 RBI while Brian Anderson and Derek Dietrich have combined for 177 hits and 70 RBI. Elieser Hernandez gets the ball, and he is 0-5 with a 5.05 ERA and 22 strikeouts this season. This will be Hernandez’s first career game against the Rays.

The Rays are 4-0 in their last 4 during game 2 of a series, 4-1 in their last 5 Tuesday games and 2-11 in their last 13 road games. The Marlins are 20-44 in their last 64 vs. a team with a winning record and 4-9 in their last 13 interleague home games.  The Rays are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Miami, 9-4 in the last 13 meetings and the under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.

The Tampa Bay Rays have won just two road games since May 31 and have had issues scoring as of late. The Miami Marlins are a young team that's been able to sprinkle in wins here and there and a walkoff win last night is sure to provide an even bigger confidence boost. While the results may not always be there, the Marlins compete night in and night out, and are worth a play here with the Rays struggling as badly as they have on the road over the last month.
