Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Nationals and the Miami Marlins will be matching up in MLB action on Monday from Marlins Park.

The Nationals are coming off a weekend set against the Braves. Washington dropped the first game before coming back to win the weekend outings 7-1 and 6-4 to take the series.

The Nats will be going with RHP Erick Fedde in the start Monday. Across his 38.2 innings and 2-3 record this year, Fedde has a 5.12 ERA with 35 Ks and 13 BBs.

Leading the way for the Nats this season is Trea Turner, who has 164 hits, 92 runs, 17 homers and 63 RBI. Anthony Rendon is close behind on 145 hits, 79 runs, 20 homers and 75 RBI.

Over on the Marlins’ side, they just finished up against the Phillies. Miami lost the first two of those games but managed a 6-4 win on Sunday.

For Monday’s game, the Marlins will be sending out Trevor Richards in the start. Across 107.2 innings and a 3-9 mark this year, Richards has a 4.85 ERA with 107 Ks and 50 BBs.

Miami’s top bat is Starlin Castro, who sits on 157 hits, 74 runs, 11 homers and 51 RBI. Brian Anderson has 149 hits, 80 runs, 10 homers and 59 RBI thus far.

The Nationals are 2-6 in their last eight Monday games and 4-0 in Fedde’s last four road starts. Washington is 1-4 in their last five road games versus a team with a losing home record and the under is 5-1 in their last six Monday games.

Meanwhile, the Marlins are 1-6 in Richards’ last seven starts and 0-4 in his last four starts versus the NL East. Miami is 1-4 in Richards’ last five starts with four days’ rest and 1-5 in his last six starts versus a team with a winning record.

Fedde’s last two starts have been a tale of two results. Against St. Louis, he gave up four earned in 5.0 innings, then bounced back for zero earned in 5.2 against the Phillies. As for Richards, he’s given up 10 earned in his last two starts over 6.1 innings. I’m not super-pumped about either pitcher here but I have to go Washington.

Washington Nationals -147
