Milwaukee Brewers -116 / Cincinnati Reds +106 O/U: 9
The Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers will meet up to continue their MLB series on Friday.
In the Thursday opener, the Reds scored three in the first inning and rode the wave to a 7-1 win.
For Friday’s game the Reds will be sending out Sonny Gray in the start. Over his 71.2 innings and 3-5 record so far, Gray has a 3.77 ERA with 79 Ks and 27 BBs.
Cincinnati’s bats were working in the Thursday win, with 10 total hits. Nick Senzel logged a pair of hits with three RBI and a two-run homer.
Over on the Brewers’ side, they’re going with Chase Anderson on Friday. In 46.2 innings and a 3-1 record, Anderson has a 4.05 ERA with 49 Ks and 19 BBs.
Milwaukee could only muster five hits on the evening Thursday. Two of them came from Christian Yelich, who logged the only run with a solo homer.
The Reds are 5-1 in Gray’s last six starts and 0-4 in his last four with four days’ rest. Cincinnati is 5-0 in Gray’s last five starts versus a team with a winning record and 5-1 in his last six on grass.
Meanwhile, the Brewers are 2-6 in their last eight in game two of a series and 1-4 in their last five Friday games. Milwaukee is 4-1 in Anderson’s last five Friday starts and 5-1 in his last six versus the NL Central.
Gray has been pretty solid lately. He’s given up three earned or fewer in each of his last nine starts, however he does have six earned on nine hits over his past 10.2 innings.
As for Anderson, he gave up four earned in 4.0 innings against Miami but since has given up five earned over his last 10.0 innings in two starts.
Both these guys should come out and pitch well. I’m going to go with Gray and the Reds in a tight game.
