Milwaukee Brewers -130 / Cincinnati Reds +120 O/U: 9
The Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers will meet up on the MLB diamond to continue their series on Tuesday.
In the Monday game, the Reds were trailing in the ninth inning until a two-run homer gave them the lead, and Cincinnati held on for good 6-5.
For Tuesday’s matchup, the Reds will send out Tanner Roark for the start. Over 102.0 innings and a 5-6 record so far, Roark has a 3.97 ERA with 101 Ks and 33 BBs.
The big hero for the Reds on Monday was Eugenio Suarez, who bashed two home runs and finished with four RBI on the evening.
Over on the Milwaukee side, they’re going with Zach Davies in the start Tuesday. Across 109.2 innings and an 8-2 mark this year, Davies has a 2.79 ERA with 68 Ks and 35 BBs.
Milwaukee posted eight hits in the Monday game and couldn’t do much scoreboard damage outside of the eighth inning. That was when Tyler Saladino bashed a grand slam to give the Brewers a brief lead.
The Reds are 2-5 in their last seven in game two of a series and 6-2 in Roark’s last eight road starts. Cincinnati is 4-1 in Roark’s last five road starts versus a team with a winning record and the under is 15-3 in their last 18 Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Brewers are 0-4 in Davies’ last four Tuesday starts and 6-1 in his last seven home starts. Milwaukee is 5-1 in Davies’ last six starts with four days’ rest and 5-0 in his last five versus the NL Central.
Roark had a bad outing in Colorado on July 13 with 4.2 innings, 13 hits and seven earned runs, but then again not too many people pitch well at Coors. He did better against the Cardinals his last time up with two earned in 5.0 innings.
As for Davies, he has consecutive quality starts to his credit with one earned in 13.0 innings. I like Davies to stay hot so I’m sticking with the Brewers here.
