The Line: Milwaukee Brewers -115 / San Francisco Giants -105 --- Over/Under: 8.5
The Milwaukee Brewers and the San Francisco Giants face off on Wednesday at Miller Park for game three of their MLB series.
The Milwaukee Brewers continue to be one of the worst teams in baseball this season as the fell to the Giants on Wednesday. Aramis Ramirez had two hits including a home run and Ryan Braun and Jhris Davis each had hits as the Brewers scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Matt Garza allowed eight hits and five runs while striking out seven over 5.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 2-7 for the season. For Wednesday’s game the Brewers start Mike Fiers who has allowed 55 hits and 24 earned runs while striking out 57 over 46.2 innings for a 1-4 record and a 4.63 ERA.
The San Francisco Giants continue to stay on the heels of the NL West leading Dodgers as the beat the Brewers on Tuesday. Hunter Pence, Brandon Belt, and Matt Duffy each hit home runs as the Giants scored six runs on 10 hits. Starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner allowed four hits and three runs while striking out three over 6.0 innings to get the win and go to 6-2 for the season and Santiago Casilla earned his 13th save. For Wednesday’s game the Giants start Ryan Vogelsong who has allowed 43 hits and 23 earned runs while striking out 33 over 45 innings for a 3-2 record and a 4.60 ERA.
Milwaukee is 25-54 in their last 79 games, 1-5 following a loss, and 1-5 in Fiers’ last six home starts. San Francisco is 9-1 following a win, 8-2 in their last 10 road games, and 3-7 in Vogelsong’s last 10 starts against a team with a losing record. San Francisco has won their last six meetings with Milwaukee.
Because of the late announcement of Fiers as the starter for the Brewers the line isn’t out for this but I expect the Giants to win regardless and they are my choice here.
