MLB | Washington Nationals (48-49) at Milwaukee Brewers (56-45)

Miller Park will be alive once again on Tuesday as the Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers continue their MLB series.

In the Monday opener, the Brewers cruised to a 6-1 victory.

For Tuesday’s game, the Nats will be rolling out RHP Jeremy Hellickson. Across his 63.0 innings and 4-1 mark this year, Hellickson has a 3.29 ERA with 49 Ks.

Leading the Nats in hitting coming into this set was Trea Turner, with 105 hits, 56 runs, 12 homers and 40 RBI. On Monday Turner came up empty.

Over on the Brewers’ side, they’re sending out RHP Junior Guerra on Tuesday. In his 97.2 innings and 6-2 record this year, Guerra has a 3.23 ERA with 96 Ks.

Christian Yelich is the top hitter for the Brewers this year, with 100 hits, 62 runs, 12 homers and 47 RBI entering this set. In the Monday game, Yelich had a hit and three RBI.

The Nationals are 8-3 in their last 11 Tuesday games and 4-0 in Hellickson’s last four Tuesday starts. Washington is 8-2 in Hellickson’s last 10 starts and 5-2 in his last seven road starts.

Meanwhile, the Brewers are 5-0 in their last five Tuesday games and 23-9 in their last 32 in game two of a series. The under is 20-7 in Milwaukee’s last 27 Tuesday games and the under is 18-8-2 in their last 28 in game two of a series.

It’s been a pretty solid couple of starts for Hellickson since he came off the DL, with one run in 11 innings alongside nine strikeouts and three walks. As for Guerra, he’s fresh off the aforementioned DL (forearm strain) and really won’t miss much of anything thanks to the All-Star break. Should be a fun pitching matchup to watch, but I’m sticking with the at-home Brewers here.

Pick:
Milwaukee Brewers -112
