The Line: Minnesota Twins -165 / Baltimore Orioles +155 --- Over/Under: 9
Up at Target Field on Sunday, the Baltimore Orioles and the Minnesota Twins will be finishing up their MLB set.
The Twins took the first pair of games in this series 5-2 and 6-2, then on Saturday Minnesota eked one out 5-4.
For the Sunday game, the Orioles will be bringing out RHP Alex Cobb. In his 81.1 innings and 2-10 mark this year, Cobb has a 6.53 ERA with 55 Ks and 24 BBs.
Manny Machado leads the Orioles in hitting this year, coming into the weekend with 103 hits, 43 runs, 21 homers and 59 RBI. On Saturday, Machado had a hit and an RBI.
As for the Twins, they’re rolling with Jake Odorizzi on Sunday. Over his 90.2 innings and 3-6 mark this season, Odorizzi has a 4.57 ERA with 97 Ks and 43 BBs.
Leading the way for the Twins offense this season is Eddie Rosario, and he entered game three with 104 hits, 58 runs, 18 homers and 53 RBI. On Saturday, Rosario went 0-for-4.
The Orioles are 3-7 in Cobb’s last 10 road starts and 3-12 in his last 15 starts. Baltimore is also 1-6 in Cobb’s last seven starts versus a team with a losing record and 0-6 in his last six starts with four days of rest.
Meanwhile, the Twins are 5-2 in their last seven in game four of a series and 2-6 in Odorizzi’s last eight starts. Minnesota is also 1-4 in Odorizzi’s last five home starts and the under is 3-1-1 in the Twins’ last five home games.
Cobb has had a couple of good starts among his last handful—and a few choppy ones as well—and managed a quality start his last time up with three earned on four hits in 6.2 innings. As for Odorizzi, he's given up two earned in his last two starts over 11.0 innings. I’m not too thrilled about either pitcher here but I think the Twins can get it, all things considered.
