Minnesota Twins -115 / Boston Red Sox +105 O/U: 10
The Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins will meet up on the MLB diamond to finish their series on Wednesday.
In the Monday matchup, the Sox took a 2-0 win. On Tuesday, we had one of the craziest games of the year in a 17-inning, 4-3 walk-off win for the Twins.
For the Wednesday game, the Sox will be sending out Eduardo Rodriguez. Over his 79.0 innings and 7-4 record this year, Rodriguez has a 4.67 ERA with 84 Ks and 22 BBs.
Boston’s offense hung tough Tuesday, racking up 17 hits. Andrew Benintendi, Rafael Devers and Brock Holt each had three knocks.
Over on the Twins’ side, they’re going with Kyle Gibson in the start Wednesday. In his 75.1 innings and 7-3 record this year, Gibson has a 3.70 ERA with 77 Ks and 17 BBs.
The Twins put up 15 hits in the Tuesday win. The top batter on a night full of big players was Eddie Rosario, with four hits and a run.
The Red Sox are 58-15 in their last 73 in game three of a series and 40-13 in the last 53 Wednesday games. Boston is 7-0 in Rodriguez’s last seven Wednesday starts and 17-4 in his last 21 in game three of a series.
Meanwhile, the Twins are 21-5 in their last 26 in game three of a series an 6-0 in Gibson’s last six starts in game three of a series. Minnesota is 4-0 in Gibson’s last four home starts and 12-4 in his last 16 starts.
Rodriguez had a bad start or two last month, but he’s doing pretty well over his last four. In that span he has eight earned total across 24.1 innings on 23 hits.
As for Gibson, he had a rough one against Detroit (5.0 innings; five earned) but bounced back with zero earned on two hits in 8.0 innings versus KC and has won three of his last four games.
This should be a pretty great matchup. I’m staying away but I like Gibson to help the Twins eke one out.
