The Line: Minnesota Twins +149 / Cleveland Indians -159 --- Over/Under: 8.5
Up at Target Field on Tuesday, the Cleveland Indians and the Minnesota Twins will be continuing their MLB set.
In the Monday opener, we got a tight game and an eventual walk-off victory from the Twins 5-4.
For Tuesday’s game, the Indians will be bringing out RHP Trevor Bauer. In his 147.1 innings and 9-6 mark this year, Bauer has a 2.32 ERA with 192 Ks and 49 BBs.
Francisco Lindor leads the Indians hitters this season, coming out of the weekend on 123 hits, 90 runs, 27 homers and 67 RBI. On Monday, Lindor had one hit.
Over on the Twins’ side, they’re rolling with Kyle Gibson on Tuesday. Across 129.0 innings and a 5-7 record this year, Gibson has a 3.42 ERA with 126 Ks and 50 BBs.
Eddie Rosario sits atop the Twins’ offense, coming into this set on 128 hits, 69 runs, 19 homers and 64 RBI. In the opener, Rosario went 0-for-3.
The Indians are 4-1 in Bauer’s last five starts and 4-1 in his last five starts versus the AL Central. Cleveland is also 2-5 in Bauer’s last seven starts with five days’ rest and the over is 5-0 in their last five Tuesday games.
Meanwhile, the Twins are 3-7 in their last 10 during game two of a series and 11-4 in Gibson’s last 15 starts with four days’ rest. Minnesota is 5-2 in Gibson’s last seven Tuesday starts and 0-5 in his last five starts in game two of a series.
After giving up four earned on nine hits in 4.0 innings in Texas, Bauer bounced back in his last start with zero earned on two hits in 7.0 innings versus Pittsburgh. As for Gibson, He’s got three quality starts in his last four outings, giving up five earned in those. All things considered though, I like Bauer and the Indians here.
