Minnesota Twins +102 / Houston Astros -112 O/U: 8
The Houston Astros and the Minnesota Twins will meet up to finish their MLB series on Thursday.
The two teams split the first pair of games in this set, then on Wednesday Minnesota scored three runs in the third inning on the way to a 6-3 win.
For the Thursday game, the Astros will be sending out RHP Brad Peacock in the start. Over his 27.0 innings and 2-1 mark this year, Peacock has a 3.67 ERA with 24 Ks and seven BBs.
Houston couldn’t get anything going until the ninth inning on Wednesday. Jose Altuve put up a couple hits, and Aledmys Diaz had a run with one hit and an RBI.
Over on the Twins’ side, they’re going with Jose Berrios in the start Thursday. Across 39.1 innings and a 4-1 mark this season, Berrios has a 2.97 ERA with 41 Ks and eight walks.
Minnesota had a big third inning on Wednesday, highlighted by Jonathan Schoop’s two-run homer. Nelson Cruz added two RBI with two hits and a run.
The Astros are 1-5 in their last six Thursday games and 6-1 in Peacock’s last seven Thursday starts. Houston is 4-1 in Peacock’s last five road starts and 4-1 in his last five starts.
Meanwhile, the Twins are 6-1 in Berrios’ last seven starts and 23-5 in his last 28 home starts. Minnesota is 7-3 in Berrios’ last 10 Thursday starts and 2-5 in his last seven starts with four days’ rest.
Overall this season, Peacock has been pretty solid aside from an ugly start versus Oakland (five earned; 5.0 innings) and a “blah” start versus Minnesota April 22 (5.0 innings; six hits three earned).
As for Berrios, five of his six starts this season have been the quality variety and he’s chugging right along so far. I’m sticking with the Twins to steal one here.
