Marilyn Indahl-USA TODAY Sports

The Kansas City Royals and the Minnesota Twins will be finishing up their MLB series on Sunday from Target Field.

In the Friday game one, the Twins banged out a 10-6 win. On Saturday, Jorge Lopez had a perfect game going into the bottom of the ninth but let it go with a walk and a hit in a 4-1 Royals win.

For the Sunday game, the Royals will be sending out RHP Ian Kennedy for the start. In his 94.2 innings and 1-9 record this year, Kennedy has a 5.13 ERA with 87 Ks.

Leading the Royals offense this year is Whit Merrifield, who entered the weekend on 164 hits, 71 runs, 11 homers and 52 RBI. On Saturday, Merrifield posted two hits, a run and an RBI.

Over on the Twins’ side, they’re going with Chase De Jong on Sunday. This will be his Twins debut after putting up a 3.20 ERA in five starts in Triple-A.

The Twins’ offensive leader is Eddie Rosario, who entered the weekend on 156 hits, 85 runs, 23 homers and 75 RBI. In game two, Rosario whiffed 0-for-3.

The Royals are 10-41 in their last 51 in game three of a series and 7-3 in Kennedy’s last 10 Sunday starts. KC is 7-19 in Kennedy’s last 26 starts and 1-7 in his last eight road starts.

Meanwhile, the Twins are 2-5 in their last seven Sunday games and 8-21 in their last 29 in game three of a series. The under is 5-2 in the Twins’ last seven Sunday games and the over is 10-4 in their last 14 games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.

Kennedy is coming off the disabled list to make his first start in almost two months here. he’s been out since July 11 thanks to an oblique strain. De Jong came from the Mariners in July and has looked pretty good on the minors. I’m going to take a chance here and go with De Jong and the Twins here.

Minnesota Twins -155
