|Date & Time||Sunday May 20, 2018, 1:10 PM (EDT)|
The Line: New York Mets -185 / Arizona Diamondbacks +174 --- Over/Under: 7
Over at Citi Field on Sunday, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the New York Mets will be finishing up their MLB series.
In game one of this set Friday, the Mets managed a 3-1 win. On Saturday, New York kept it going with a 5-4 win.
For the Sunday game, the Mets will be sending out Noah Syndergaard. In his 51.2 innings and 3-1 mark this year, Syndergaard has a 3.14 ERA with 61 Ks and 12 BBs.
Coming into the weekend, AJ Pollock led the Diamondbacks in hitting with 44 hits, 23 runs and 33 RBI. On Saturday, JR Murphy posted a two-run homer.
As for the Diamondbacks, they’re going with Clay Buchholz in the start Sunday. Buchholz is coming up from Triple-A Reno and this will be his first outing with the D-Backs this year.
Leading the way for the Mets entering the weekend was Asdrubal Cabrera, with 48 hits, 24 runs and 24 RBI. In the Saturday game, Cabrera had two hits.
The Diamondbacks are 1-4 in their last five in game three of a series and the under is 4-1 in their last five in game three of a series. Arizona is also 1-9 in their last 10 overall and 0-7 in their last seven versus the NL East.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 6-15 in their last 21 Sunday games and 1-5 in their last six in game three of a series. New York is also 10-4 in Syndergaard’s last 14 Sunday starts and 1-5 in his last six starts in game three of a series.
Syndergaard has been a pretty solid option for the Mets this year, and he just broke a string of four quality starts with two earned in 5.0 innings his last time up. As for Buchholz, it will be interesting to see what he looks like here. All things considered though, I’m going with the Mets on Sunday.
