The Line: New York Mets -180 / Atlanta Braves +170 --- Over/Under: 7.5
Out at Citi Field on Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets will be finishing up their MLB set.
In the Tuesday game, Atlanta scored three times in the top of the first and would hang on for a 3-2 victory.
For Wednesday’s matchup, the Braves will be sending out LHP Sean Newcomb. In his 27.2 innings and 1-1 record this year, Newcomb has a 4.23 ERA with 32 Ks.
Coming into this set, Ozzie Albies led the Braves with 34 hits, 29 runs, nine runs and 20 RBI. In the Tuesday game, Albies had a hit and a run.
Over on the Mets’ side, they’re going with Jacob deGrom on Wednesday. Over his 39.1 innings and 3-0 record this year, deGrom has a 2.06 ERA and 48 Ks with 11 walks.
Leading the way for the Mets entering play Tuesday was Asdrubal Cabrera with 34 hits, 20 runs and 17 RBI. In the Tuesday game, Cabrera went 1-for-4.
The Braves are 4-0 in their last four Wednesday games and 1-6 in their last seven during game two of a series. Atlanta is also 3-8 in Newcomb’s last 11 versus the NL East and 1-7 in his last eight starts in game two of a series.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 4-1 in their last five Wednesday games and 1-4 in the last five during game two of a series. New York is also 1-6 in deGrom’s last seven home starts and the over is 4-1 in his last five Wednesday starts.
Teheran had a pretty good three-game run going but faltered in Philly with three earned in 3.0 innings. As for deGrom, he’s had a couple bumps in the road but otherwise has ben good all year, with no earned in his last two starts and 14.1 innings. With deGrom on the mound, I have to go with the Mets to get the win here.
