The Line: New York Mets -117 / Baltimore Orioles +107 --- Over/Under: 8
Over at Citi Field on Wednesday, the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Mets will be finishing up their two-game MLB set.
In the Tuesday game, the Orioles scraped by on a 2-1 win.
For Wednesday’s outing, the Orioles will be going with RHP Dylan Bundy. In his 68.2 innings and 3-7 record this year, Bundy has a 4.46 ERA with 83 Ks and 20 BBs.
Manny Machado leads the Baltimore offense this year, coming into this set with 74 hits, 32 runs, 18 homers and 47 RBI. On Tuesday, Machado had a hit and an RBI.
Over on the Mets’ side, they’re going with Zach Wheeler on Wednesday. Across his 56.0 innings and 2-4 record, Wheeler has a 5.14 ERA with 57 Ks and 21 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Mets this year is Asdrubal Cabrera, who came into this series with 64 hits, 30 runs, 10 homers and 34 RBI. In the opener, Cabrera put up an 0-for-4 line.
The Orioles are 16-39 in their last 55 during game two of a series and 1-6 in the last seven Wednesday games. Baltimore is also 4-11 in Bundy’s last 15 starts and 1-5 in his last six road starts.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 2-10 in their last 12 in game two of a series and 1-5 in the last six Wednesday games. New York is also 0-5 in Wheeler’s last five home starts and 0-6 in his last six starts.
Bundy has been decent over the last two games, with two quality starts and six earned across 15.0 innings in total. Wheeler has been okay as well with two quality starts in his last three games, all three of which he lasted 6.0 innings. I’m not super jazzed about either pitcher (or team) here, but in a fairly evenly-matched home game I’m going to go with the Mets but otherwise staying away.
