The Line: New York Mets +102 / New York Yankees -112 --- Over/Under: 7.5
The New York Yankees head to Citi Field to battle the New York Mets in interleague MLB action on Friday.
The surging New York Yankees are keeping the pressure on AL East leading Boston with wins in seven of eight after downing Toronto 3-0 in 13 innings on Wednesday. The Yankees pitching was dominant with starter Sonny Gray tossing eight scoreless innings with four relievers following suit with David Robertson picking up the win.
The Bronx Bombers logged eight hits and walked five times with Giancarlo Stanton smacking his 14th long ball while Aaron Judge clubbed a two run bomb that scored Brett Gardner who was 2-6.
The Yankees kick off their series at Citi Field with Masahiro Tanaka on the bump. Tanaka has won three in a row after downing Baltimore 8-5 with four runs plated on eight hits in a 5.1 inning stint.
The New York Mets have been fading and need a reversal of fortunes immediately. New York comes off of a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the visiting Orioles on Wednesday where starter Zack Wheeler threw seven scoreless innings before Jeurys Familia gave an 8th inning run.
The Mets mustered five hits and walked three times with eight different players reaching base. The NY Mets have named Jacob deGrom as Friday’s starter versus the visiting Yankees. DeGrom received a no decision last time out in a 7-1 loss to the Cubs with a run given up over seven frames.
NY Yankees are 7-1 in their last 8 interleague games and are 36-15 in their last 51 overall and are 36-16 in their last 52 games on grass. NY Mets are 0-8 in their last 8 home games and are 3-14 in their last 17 interleague games and are 3-13 in their last 16 overall.
Tanaka is hittable while deGrom has been nasty but the difference is deGrom has been getting no support so I’m looking at the Yankees…
