Adam Hunger-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets meet Tuesday in MLB action at Citi Field.

The Philadelphia Phillies look for another victory after winning nine of their last 12 games. The Phillies have scored seven runs in their last three games and three or less runs in eight of their last 13 games. The Philadelphia Phillies have won 15 of their last 20 games when scoring more than one run. Odubel Herrera leads the Phillies with 94 hits and 51 RBI while Cesar Hernandez and Rhys Hoskins have combined for 161 hits and 84 RBI. Enyel De Los Santos will make his major league debut tonight when he takes the mound. Enyel De Los Santos was 33-14 with a 3.30 ERA and 393 strikeouts in his minor league career.

The New York Mets look for a victory here after splitting their last eight games. The Mets have allowed 15 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in seven of their last 14 games. The New York Mets have lost 14 of their last 18 games when allowing more than one run. Offensively, Asdrubal Cabrera leads the Mets with 94 hits and 51 RBI while Amed Rosario and Brandon Nimmo have combined for 124 hits and 47 RBI. Drew Gagnon will make his major league debut tonight when he takes the mound. Drew Gagnon was 33-43 with a 4.78 ERA and 686 strikeouts in his minor league career.

The Phillies are 6-2 in their last 8 during game 3 of a series, 6-2 in their last 8 vs. National League East and 5-1 in their last 6 vs. a team with a losing record. The Mets are 8-22 in their last 30 Tuesday games, 1-4 in their last 5 vs. National League East and 1-4 in their last 5 during game 3 of a series. The Phillies are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in New York, 26-58 in the last 84 meetings and the under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.

Good luck picking a game that has two pitchers making their major league debut. You have no idea what to expect from either guy, and that's not the type of game I like to bet any money on. However, if forced to pick, you have to side with the Philadelphia Phillies, the better team that's in the middle of a division race. The New York Mets are just an awful team that already has its eyes set on vacation and consistently puts out a lineup that can't hit. While I can't say much about either pitcher, we do know the Phillies are the much better team. So, give me the Phillies.
