Coming up Wednesday from Citi Field, the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Mets will be finishing up their MLB series.

In the Monday opener of this set, the Pirates managed a 6-4 win. On Tuesday, the Mets eked out a 4-3 10-inning win in walk-off fashion.

For Wednesday’s game, the Pirates will be bringing out RHP Ivan Nova. In his 81.1 innings and 4-5 record this season, Nova has a 3.98 ERA with 66 Ks and 15 BBs.

Corey Dickerson leads the Pirates hitters this year, entering game two with 79 hits, 32 runs and 32 RBI. On Tuesday, Gregory Polanco put up two RBI and a homer.

Over on the Mets’ side, they’re rolling with Zach Wheeler on Wednesday. Across 81.2 innings and a 2-6 record this year, Wheeler has a 4.85 ERA with 79 Ks and 31 BBs.

Asdrubal Cabrera is the top Mets offensive player this season, bringing 80 hits, 35 runs and 43 RBI into Tuesday. In game two, Cabrera had two hits and a run.

The Pirates are 6-0 in their last six Wednesday games and 3-8 in their last 11 in game three of a series. Pittsburgh is also 1-4 in Nova’s last five starts versus the NL East and 0-4 in his last four Wednesday starts.

Meanwhile, the Mets are 3-9 in their last 12 in game three of a series and 1-8 in their last nine Wednesday games. New York is also 1-9 in Wheeler’s last 10 starts and 0-7 in his last seven home starts.

Nova has been pretty solid over his last three starts, with a 2-0 mark, two earned runs and 19 Ks over a span of 19.2 innings. As for Wheeler, he’s been up and down lately with 12 earned in his last 18.2 innings over three starts. I’m going to go with Nova to stay consistent here hand help the Pirates to a win.

Pittsburgh Pirates -103
