The San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets will match up on the MLB diamond Thursday as they complete their series.

In the Tuesday opener, the Giants powered out a 9-3 win. On Wednesday, the Mets managed a nice 7-0 shutout victory to even things up.

For Thursday’s game, the Giants will be sending out Shaun Anderson in the start. Over his 22.0 innings and 1-1 mark this year, Anderson has a 4.09 ERA with 13 Ks and five walks.

San Francisco put up five hits in the Wednesday loss. No player had more than one hit, and each of the first four batters in the lineup went 1-for-4.

Over on the Mets’ side, they’re sending out Zack Wheeler on Thursday. Across 77.0 innings and a 5-3 record, Wheeler has a 4.68 ERA with 87 Ks and 24 BBs.

New York logged a nice win Wednesday, and one of the biggest hits came from Amed Rosario, who posted a three-run homer.

The Giants are 6-2 in their last eight in game three of a series and the under is 5-2 in their last seven Thursday games.

Meanwhile, New York is 8-3 in their last 11 Thursday games and 3-12 in their last 15 in game three of a series. The Mets are 4-1 in Wheeler’s last five home starts and 4-1 in his last five overall. New York is also 1-4 in Wheeler’s last five starts in game three of a series.

We’ve only got four starts to gauge Anderson from, but so far the returns have been pretty good. He’s coming off a quality start in his first win of the year, with 7.0 innings, five hits and two earned.

As for Wheeler, he had a string of four quality starts in five games going last month and has won his last two outings. So long as the Mets don’t let things get out of hand here I think they’ll be alright behind Wheeler.
