The Washington Nationals and the New York Mets will meet up on the MLB diamond on Saturday to continue their series.

For the Saturday game, the Nats will be going with lefty Patrick Corbin in the start. In his first outing of the year, Corbin put up a no-decision on 6.0 innings, seven hits and two earned.

Heading up the Nationals hitters so far this year is Anthony Rendon with 10 hits, seven runs, two homers and five RBI. Juan Soto is in second on the Nats with his seven hits, five runs and five RBI.

Over on the Mets’ side, they’re going with Steven Matz on Saturday. In his first start this year, Matz logged 5.1 innings with six hits, one earned and three strikeouts.

Wilson Ramos sits atop the Mets hitters so far this season with 11 hits, five runs and five RBI. Both Pete Alonso and Michael Conforto are tied for second on the team with nine hits apiece and a combined eight runs.

The Nationals are 6-1 in their last seven Saturday games and 7-2 in their last nine in game two of a series. Washington is 11-5 in their last 16 road games and 1-4 in their last five after a win.
Meanwhile, the Mets are 5-0 in their last five in game two of a series and 7-2 in their last nine versus the NL East. New York is 6-2 in the last eight Saturday games and 7-3 in their last 10 home games.

Well, Corbin may have given up a few too many hits and struck out too few batters in his opening start, but 6.0 innings with two earned runs should be more than enough support for the rest of the team to get him a win instead of the ‘ol ND.

The Mets are all too familiar with not supporting their starters, and they didn’t do much for Matz in his first start either. This one’s going to come down to which team supports their SP more, and though neither one of these squads has a history of doing that lately, I’m going with the at-home Mets, who are playing better in the early-going this season.

Pick:
New York Mets +102
