The Line: New York Yankees -280 / Baltimore Orioles +230 --- Over/Under: 9
The Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees will be meeting up at Yankee Stadium on Friday to kick off their weekend MLB series.
Baltimore just finished up against the Blue Jays. The O’s fell in the first pair of games in that set, but eked out a 2-1 win on Wednesday.
For the Friday game, the Orioles will be sending out RHP Yefry Ramirez. Across 55.2 innings and a 1-6 mark this year, Ramirez has a 5.50 ERA with 55 Ks.
Adam Jones leads the Orioles this year with 155 hits, 53 runs, 15 homers and 58 RBI. In second is Trey Mancini with 129 hits, 64 runs, 23 homers and 53 RBI.
Over on the Yankees’ side, they’re fresh off a series versus the Red Sox. New York took wins in the first two games of that set, and on Thursday the Yankees lost 11-6 as Boston clinched the division.
For Friday’s matchup, the Yankees will be bringing out CC Sabathia. In his 142.0 innings and 7-7 record this year, Sabathia has a 3.80 ERA with 130 Ks.
Leading the way for the Yankees hitters this year is Miguel Andujar, who came into the Sox finale on 158 hits, 78 runs, 25 homers and 84 RBI. On Thursday, Andujar came up empty.
The Orioles are 16-35 in their last 51 games following an off day and 11-30 in their last 41 Friday games. Baltimore is 27-74 in their last 101 overall and 13-39 in their last 52 versus the AL East.
Meanwhile the Yankees are 4-0 in their last four in game one of a series and 5-0 in their last five Friday games. The over is 5-1 in the Yankees’ last six Friday games and 19-7 in the last 26 meetings between these two teams at Yankee Stadium.
Ramirez is 0-2 with a 7.50 ERA in three outings versus the Yankees, but has done well in relief. As for Sabathia, he put up a stinker against Toronto his last time up. I like CC to bounce back here though, so I’ll go Yankees.
