New York Yankees -174 / Cleveland Indians +164 O/U: 10.5
The Cleveland Indians and the New York Yankees will match up to continue their MLB series on Friday.
In the Thursday game, Cleveland jumped out for a quick 9-1 lead in the first two innings and obliterated the Yankees 19-5.
For Friday’s matchup, the Indians will send out Aaron Civale for the start. Over his 18.0 innings and 1-1 record, Civale has a 1.00 ERA with 18 Ks and four walks.
Cleveland ripped 24 hits in the win on Thursday. Nine different Indians players finished with multiple knocks.
Over on the Yankees’ side, they’re going with Masahiro Tanaka on Friday. This year over 137.2 innings and an 8-6 mark, Tanaka has a 4.64 ERA with 114 Ks and 34 BBs.
There was no way the Yankees could keep up with the onslaught Thursday. Didi Gregorius led the team with three hits and a solo homer.
The Indians are 4-0 in the last four Friday games and 5-1 in their last six in game two of a series. The over is 6-2 in the Indians’ last eight Friday games and the under is 7-3 in their last 10 in game two of a series.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are 13-3 in the last 16 in game two of a series and 10-1 in Tanaka’s last 11 starts. New York is 5-1 in Tanaka’s last six Friday starts and 40-16 in his last 56 home starts.
It’s been a nice tally so far for Civale, who just has the one tough-luck loss (1-0 against Texas) and has otherwise given up just two earned on nine hits in his three starts.
As for Tanaka, he had a really sketchy run going before putting away Toronto his last time out with zero earned, three hits and 8.0 innings in a 1-0 win. I’m not totally back to trusting Tanaka—even though that helps—so I’m going Indians here.
