The Los Angeles Angels and the New York Yankees will meet up on the MLB diamond Wednesday.
In the Tuesday opener of this set, New York got a great performance from a returning Luis Severino (4.0 innings, two hits, four Ks), and six runs in the fourth inning led to a big 8-0 shutout victory.
For Wednesday’s game, the Angels will send out Dillon Peters in the start. Across 59.2 innings and a 3-3 mark so far, Peters has a 4.83 ERA with 48 Ks and 21 BBs.
Over on the Yankees’ side, they’re trotting out veteran CC Sabathia in the start Wednesday. Sabathia is 5-8 with a 4.95 ERA and 101 Ks this year.
The Angels are 3-10 in their last 13 in game two of a series and 0-4 in the last four Wednesday games. The under is 6-2 in their last eight in game two of a series as well.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are 13-3 in the last 16 Wednesday games and 41-19 in the last 60 in game two of a series. The over is 5-1-1 in New York’s last seven Wednesday games also.
Peters had a quality start in a no-decision against Boston three starts ago, but in his pair since then he’s put up a combined eight earned over 7.1 innings on 11 hits. Peters is 0-2 over his last five starts as well.
Even if Peters comes out solid here I don’t see the Angels pen getting through the Yankees batters. I’m going New York in this one.
