New York, New York
New York Yankees -265 / Toronto Blue Jays +225
The Toronto Blue Jays and the New York Yankees will match up on the MLB diamond Friday to kick off their series.
Toronto sits at 34-57 on the season overall and 16-27 on the road. In their last ten games, the Jays are 5-5.
For the opener here, the Blue Jays will be going with Aaron Sanchez in the starting role. Sanchez is 3-12 on the year with a 6.16 ERA and 77 strikeouts.
Over on the Yankees’ side, they’re sitting at 57-31 this season with a 31-14 record at Yankee Stadium. New York has won seven of their last ten games.
The Yankees are sending out Domingo German in the start on Friday. This season, German is 10-2 with a 3.67 ERA and 83 strikeouts.
The Blue Jays are 20-43 in their last 63 overall and 5-13 in the last 18 road games. Toronto is 2-7 in their last nine versus the AL East and 1-6 in the last seven Friday games.
Meanwhile, the Yankees are 8-2 in their last 10 Friday games and 49-21 in the last 70 overall. New York is 37-14 in the last 51 in game one of a series and 104-47 in their last 151 home games.
Sanchez had a rough go during the month of June—a career-worst stretch for him as a matter of fact—but did manage to do pretty well against the Orioles his last time out.
As for German, he came back to work on July 3 and held the rival Mets to a solo homer in six innings while striking out six batters. I like German to keep it going here and help the Yankees get a win to start the second half.
