Los Angeles Angels at Oakland Athletics
|Date & Time||Friday March 29, 2019, 10:07 PM (EDT)|
Oakland Athletics -117 / Los Angeles Angels +107 O/U: 8.5
The Los Angeles Angels and the Oakland Athletics will match up in Game 2 of their MLB series on Friday.
The Angels are going with RHP Matt Harvey on Friday. Harvey finished out the year with the Reds in 2018, and had a string of three late-season quality starts broken by 10 earned over his last two appearances.
The Angels fell 4-0 in Game 1 of this set Thursday. LA could only manage three hits on the day, courtesy of Kole Calhoun, Mike Trout and Tommy La Stella—but no one could make their way home.
Over on the A’s side, they’re sending out Marco Estrada on Friday. Estrada already has one start in the books this year, going 5.0 innings with five hits and three earned runs.
In the A’s win on Friday, Robbie Grossman bagged two hits with a run, while Marcus Semien and Khris Davis each logged a solo homer among Oakland’s seven hits on the day.
The Angels are 1-4 in their last five in game two of a series and 0-5 in their last five road games. The under is 3-1-1 in LA’s last five overall and 14-5 in their last 19 Friday games.
Meanwhile, the A’s are 6-1 in their last seven Friday games and 21-6 in the last 27 in game two of a series. Oakland is 1-4 in their last five overall and 2-4 in their last six versus the AL West.
Harvey is one of those feast-or-famine guys who can potentially control a game completely or just melt down. The Angels really need to get him some run support just in case, but that’s another question as well.
I’m not super high on Estrada either, as his ERA has been pretty bloated over the last couple of seasons. If Harvey can get a few good innings here I like the Angels, but this is probably a coin flip game and one to stay away from.
