|Date & Time||Friday June 15, 2018, 9:35 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Oakland Athletics +106 / Los Angeles Angels -116 --- Over/Under: 8
The Los Angeles Angels and Oakland Athletics meet Friday in MLB action at Oakland Coliseum.
The Los Angeles Angels need a bounce back victory here in order to snap a four-game losing streak. The Angels have allowed 19 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in five of their last nine games. The Los Angeles Angels have lost 12 of their last 15 games when allowing more than three runs. Offensively, Mike Trout leads the Angels with 77 hits and 45 RBI while Andrelton Simmons and Justin Upton have combined for 135 hits and 74 RBI. Tyler Skaggs gets the ball, and he is 5-4 with a 3.08 ERA and 78 strikeouts this season. Skaggs is 1-4 with a 5.08 ERA and 31 strikeouts in his career against the Athletics.
The Oakland Athletics need a victory here in order to get back to a .500 record. The Athletics have allowed 26 runs in their last three games and six or more runs in five of their last nine games. The Oakland Athletics have lost six straight games when allowing more than two runs. Offensively, Jed Lowrie leads the Athletics with 73 hits and 42 RBI while Marcus Semien and Matt Chapman have combined for 133 hits and 51 RBI. Chris Bassitt gets the ball, and he is 0-1 with a 1.29 ERA and six strikeouts this season. Bassitt is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA and seven strikeouts in his career against the Angels.
The Angels are 5-16 in their last 21 games following an off day, 0-4 in their last 4 road games and 6-2 in Skaggs' last 8 road starts. The Athletics are 6-1 in their last 7 Friday games, 2-5 in their last 7 during game 1 of a series and 7-19 in their last 26 vs. American League West. The Angels are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Oakland, 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and 1-4 in Skaggs' last 5 starts vs. Athletics.
Skaggs has been really solid as of late, allowing one run in his last 13 innings of work and allowing two or less runs in seven of his last nine starts. Bassitt has just seven innings under his belt this season, but he was rather impressive as well, allowing one run in three hits during that performance. Bottom line is we're getting plus money with the Oakland Athletics at home, and they need a bounce back performance after getting smacked by the Astros. The A's offense is bound to bounce back. I'll take them at this price.
