John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

The Tampa Bay Rays and Oakland Athletics meet Wednesday in MLB action at Oakland Coliseum.

The Tampa Bay Rays look for another victory to build on their four-game winning streak. The Rays have allowed six runs in their last three games and three or less runs in six straight games. The Tampa Bay Rays have won nine of their last 10 games when allowing three or less runs. Offensively, C.J. Cron leads the Rays with 56 hits and 31 RBI while Wilson Ramos and Matt Duffy have combined for 98 hits and 41 RBI. Nathan Eovaldi gets the ball, and he was 9-8 with a 4.76 ERA and 97 strikeouts back in 2016. Eovaldi is 0-2 with a 4.97 ERA and 18 strikeouts in his career against the Athletics.

The Oakland Athletics look for a win here after splitting their last 10 games. The Athletics have scored five runs in their last three games and three or less runs in seven of their last eight games. The Oakland Athletics have lost five of their last seven games when scoring three or less runs. Jed Lowrie leads the Athletics with 65 hits and 39 RBI while Marcus Semien and Matt Olson have combined for 110 hits and 44 RBI. Sean Manaea gets the ball, and he is 5-5 with a 3.34 ERA and 53 strikeouts this season. Manaea is 1-0 with a 1.20 ERA and 12 strikeouts in his career against the Rays.

The Rays are 5-0 in their last 5 during game 3 of a series, 5-1 in their last 6 vs. American League West and 5-11 in their last 16 Wednesday games. The Athletics are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. American League East, 1-4 in their last 5 Wednesday games and 6-1 in Manaeas last 7 starts with 4 days of rest. The Rays are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings and the under is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Oakland.

I'm usually not the guy throwing out big numbers often, but Eovaldi hasn't pitched in two years due to going through two Tommy John surgries. Eovaldi says he feels great and is excited to go back out there, but that's a ton of time off to expect him to be a decent major league pitcher right away. Manaea has been solid for the most part and it's only a matter of time before the A's offense wakes up. I'll take Oakland here.

Oakland Athletics -170
