The Line: San Diego Padres -110 / Los Angeles Dodgers +100 --- Over/Under: 7
The San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers face off on Saturday at Petco Park for game two of their MLB series of NL West teams.
The San Diego Padres had few scoring chances on Friday but they couldn’t take advantage of them as they fell to the Dodgers. Matt Kemp and Derek Norris each had two hits and Justin Upton had a hit as the Padres didn’t score on six hits. Starting pitcher Andrew Cashner allowed six hits and two runs while striking out six over 7.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 1-3 for the season. For Saturday’s game the Padres start Ian Kennedy who is coming off of the 15-day DL after lasting just 2.1 innings in his first start this year.
The Los Angels Dodgers didn’t need a ton of offense but it was good enough to get the win on Friday. Carl Crawford had two hits including a home run, Yasmani Grandal had two hits, and Adrian Gonzalez had a hit as the Dodgers scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Zack Greinke allowed four hits and struck out seven over 7.0 innings to get the win and go to 3-0 for the season and Yimi Garcia earned his first save. For Saturday’s game the Dodgers start Brandon McCarthy who has allowed 18 hits and nine runs while striking out 25 over 18 innings for a 2-0 record and a 4.50 ERA.
San Diego is 37-17 in their last 54 home games, 0-4 against a right-handed starter, and 9-3 in Kennedy’s last 12 starts. Los Angeles is 5-0 against a team with a winning record, 8-3 in their last 11 games, and 2-7 in their last nine road games. Los Angeles is 4-1 in their last five games against San Diego.
The total is set at seven and I have this one going over the total and that is my free pick but it is really just a lean. My stronger play is on the winning side and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App. As always my Premium Picks can be purchased individually at Picks and Parlays.
