Philadelphia Phillies -130 / Atlanta Braves +120 O/U: 9
The Atlanta Braves and the Philadelphia Phillies will match up on the MLB diamond Sunday to finish up their series.
Atlanta took a big 9-2 victory on Friday in the opener of this set. On Saturday, Atlanta went on a scoring blitz in the early innings and rode the wave to a 15-7 win.
For the Sunday game, the Braves will be sending out Kevin Gausman in the start. Across his 69.1 innings and 3-5 record this year, Gausman has a 5.71 ERA with 72 Ks and 24 BBs.
The Braves logged 16 hits in the Saturday victory. Five Atlanta players had multiple knocks, and Ozzie Albies hit a grand slam.
Over on the Phillies’ side, they’re going with Aaron Nola in the start Sunday. Over 128.2 innings and an 8-2 mark so far, Nola has a 3.64 ERA with 145 Ks and 52 BBs.
Philly managed 12 hits on Saturday in the losing effort. Sean Rodriguez had a nice game with three hits, a homer, three runs and two RBI.
The Braves are 37-14 i their last 51 Sunday games and 50-24 in their last 74 in game three of a series. Atlanta is 7-3 in Gausman’s last 10 starts versus the NL East and 2-5 in his last seven after a quality start.
Meanwhile, the Phillies are 4-0 in their last four Sunday games and 5-2 in their last seven in game three of a series. Philly is 4-0 in Nola’s last four starts with four days’ rest and 35-16 in his last 51 starts.
Gausman had some issues in early June, with 15 earned over a 6.0-inning span. In his last appearance however, he logged a quality start with one earned in 7.0 innings.
As for Nola, he has six quality starts over his last seven tries and is 2-1 in that span. I like Nola to keep it rolling here and help the Phillies get a win.
