Los Angeles Dodgers (54-44) at Philadelphia Phillies (54-43)

The Line: Philadelphia Phillies +122 / Los Angeles Dodgers -132 --- Over/Under: 8.5
Coming up on Monday from Citizens Bank Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies will be kicking off their MLB set.
The Dodgers just finished up against the Brewers this weekend. After splitting their first two games, on Sunday LA cruised to an 11-2 win.
For the Monday game, the Dodgers are set to be bringing out Ross Stripling. In his 95.1 innings and 8-2 record this year, Stripling has a 2.08 ERA with 108 Ks.
Manny Machado is the talented new face in the Dodgers jersey, and he came out of the week on 115 hits, 48 runs, 24 homers and 65 RBI. On Sunday, Machado had a double, two hits, an RBI and a run.
Over on the Phillies’ side, they’re fresh off a series versus the Padres. Philadelphia won 11-5 on Friday, had a postponed game Saturday, and in the finale Sunday Philly lost 10-2.
Philly will be rolling with Zach Eflin in the game on Monday. In 68.2 innings and a 7-2 record this season, Eflin has a 3.15 ERA with 67 Ks.
Tops in hitting for the Phillies is Odubel Herrera, who came into the week on 102 hits, 48 runs, 16 homers and 54 RBI. In the Sunday game, Herrera logged two hits.
The Dodgers are 4-0 in their last four Monday games and 14-2 in their last 16 in game one of a series. The under is 7-3 in LA’s last 10 in game one of a series and the over is 11-5 in their last 16 Monday games.
Meanwhile, the Phillies are 6-1 in their last seven in game one of a series and 6-1 in Eflin’s last seven starts. Philly is also 4-1 in Eflin’s last five home starts and 6-2 in his last eight starts in game one of a series.
This should be a fun pitching matchup. Stripling is coming off his first career All-Star appearance and Eflin is 6-0 with a 2.32 ERA in his last seven starts. For that reason this is probably a game to stay away from, but I’m going to give the Dodgers offense a slight advantage here.
