Milwaukee Brewers (37-25) at Philadelphia Phillies (32-28)
|Date & Time||Saturday June 9, 2018, 1:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Philadelphia Phillies -133 / Milwaukee Brewers +123 --- Over/Under: 8.5
Over at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, the Milwaukee Brewers and the Philadelphia Phillies will be continuing their MLB series.
In the Friday opener, the Brewers got a big lead early and rode that momentum to a 12-4 victory.
For Saturday’s game, the Brewers will be bringing out LHP Brent Suter. In his 63.1 innings and 5-4 record this year, Suter has a 4.55 ERA with 54 Ks and 14 BBs.
Tops in hitting for the Brewers entering this set was Lorenzo Cain with 60 hits, 36 runs and 18 RBI. On Friday, Cain had two hits, two RBI and a run.
Over on the Phillies’ side, they’re going with Jake Arrieta on Saturday. Over his 64.1 innings and 5-3 record this season, Arrieta has a 2.66 ERA with 44 Ks and 19 BBs.
Philly’s leading hitter this year is Odubel Herrera with 68 hits, 27 runs and 32 RBI. In the Friday opener, Herrera went 0-for-5.
The Brewers are 4-1 in their last five Saturday games and 14-6 in their last 20 in game two of a series. Milwaukee is also 5-1 in Suter’s last six Saturday starts and 1-4 in his last five road starts.
Meanwhile, the Phillies are 6-2 in their last eight Saturday games and 2-5 in Arrieta’s last seven starts. Philadelphia is also 2-5 in Arrieta’s last seven starts on grass and the under is 4-1-1 in their last six Saturday games.
Arrieta was cruising along pretty well until his last outing in San Francisco, when he gave up five earned on eight hits in 6.0 innings. Prior to that, Arrieta had four quality starts in five appearances. I think he’ll shake it off and get back to form here, so I’m going with the Phillies.
