The St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Phillies will finish up their MLB series on Thursday.

In game one of this set, Philly eked out a 4-3 win. On Wednesday, the Phillies rocked out an 11-4 win.

For the Thursday game, the Cardinals will be sending out Dakota Hudson for the start. In his 53.1 innings and 3-3 record this year, Hudson has a 4.22 ERA with 38 Ks and 24 BBs.

Over on the Phillies’ side, they’re going with Jared Eickhoff for the start Wednesday. With 42.0 innings and a 2-2 record so far, Eickhoff has a 3.86 ERA with 39 Ks and 15 walks.

The Cardinals are 0-6 in their last six in game three of a series. The over is 5-1 in the Cards’ last six Thursday games and 48-22-2 in their last 72 in game three of a series.

Meanwhile, the Phils are 2-5 in Eickhoff’s last seven Thursday starts and 7-3 in his last 10 home starts. Philly is 2-5 in their last seven Thursday games and 5-1 in Eickhoff’s last five starts overall.

Hudson has been rolling along pretty nicely lately. In his last five starts, he’s got four quality outings and hasn’t allowed more than three earned in an outing.

As for Eickhoff, he had a good run going but since has coughed up 13 earned over 12.0 innings in three starts.

I like Hudson better here, so I’ll take STL.
