Over at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Philadelphia Phillies will be picking up their MLB series once again.

In the Monday opener, we had a 10-inning game as the Cardinals clawed back to tie it in the ninth—and go ahead in the final frame—before the Phillies won it in walk-off fashion 6-5.

For Tuesday’s game, the Cardinals will be going with RHP Luke Weaver. In his 73.2 innings and 3-6 record this year, Weaver has a 4.52 ERA with 64 Ks and 26 BBs.

Jose Martinez leads the way for the Cards in hitting with 75 hits, 32 runs, 10 homers and 42 RBI entering this set. On Monday, Martinez went 0-for-5.

Over on the Phillies’ side, they’re rolling with Vincent Velasquez on Tuesday. Across his 74.0 innings and 5-7 record this year, Velasquez has a 4.74 ERA with 89 Ks and 26 BBs.

Coming into this series, Odubel Herrera led the Phillies with 75 hits, 32 runs and 36 RBI. In the Monday opener, Herrera ripped a three-run homer.

The Cardinals are 1-4 in their last five during game two of a series and 1-5 in their last six Tuesday games. St. Louis is also 7-2 in Weaver’s last nine starts in game two of a series and 8-3 in his last 11 road starts.

Meanwhile, the Phillies are 4-1 in their last five Tuesday games and 1-4 in their last five in game two of a series. Philadelphia is also 1-4 in Velasquez’s last five starts and 6-14 in his last 20 home starts.

Weaver has given up eight earned runs across his last two starts in 10.1 innings on 16 total hits. As for Velasquez, he coughed up 10 earned against the Brewers, but does have two quality starts in his last three appearances. I’m not crazy about either pitcher here, but I’m giving the Phillies a slight edge.

Philadelphia Phillies -110
