Over at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday, the Washington Nationals and the Philadelphia Phillies will be continuing their MLB series.

In the Thursday opener, the Phillies eked out a 4-3 win. On Friday, the Nats poured in 11 runs across the first four innings on the way to a 17-7 victory.

For Saturday’s game, it’s looking like the Nationals will be bringing out Jeremy Hellickson for the start. Hellickson has been on the DL for most of this month due to a hamstring strain.

Tops in hitting for the Nationals this year is Trea Turner, with 83 hits, 43 runs and 27 RBI heading into Friday. In game two, Turner ripped a two-run homer with four runs among his three hits.

Over on the Phillies’ side, they’re rolling with Vince Velasquez on Saturday. Over his 86.1 innings and 5-8 record this year, Velasquez has a 4.69 ERA with 104 Ks and 33 BBs.

Odubel Herrera is the leading hitter for the Phillies on the season, with 87 hits, 41 runs, 13 homers and 45 RBI coming into game two. On Friday, Herrera whiffed 0-for-5.

The Nationals are 5-2 in their last seven in game three of a series and the under is 6-2 in their last eight in game three of a series. The under is also 18-7-1 in Washington’s last 26 Saturday games and they’re 2-5 in their last seven overall.

Meanwhile, the Phillies are 5-1 in their last six in game three of a series and 8-3 in their last 11 Saturday games. Philadelphia is also 1-4 in Velasquez’s last five home starts and 1-6 in his last seven starts.

Remember Velasquez’s 10 earned on nine hits in 3.2 innings against Milwaukee back on June 8? Well, he’s bounced back from that implosion pretty well with six earned in 19.0 innings over his last three starts, and is 1-1 in that time. Looking at the numbers, Velasquez has pitched quite well over the last couple of months, so taking the Phillies here doesn’t seem like a bad idea.
