Pittsburgh Pirates -135 / Arizona Diamondbacks +115 O/U: 8
The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Pittsburgh Pirates will continue their MLB series on Wednesday.
In Monday’s game one, the Diamondbacks managed a 12-4 win. On Tuesday, Arizona made it two in a row with a close 2-1 win.
For the Wednesday game, the Diamondbacks will be bringing out Merrill Kelly in the start. Over his 22.2 innings and 1-2 mark this year, Kelly has a 4.37 ERA with 22 Ks and 10 walks.
Eduardo Escobar did most of the damage for the Diamondbacks in the victory Tuesday, bagging three hits with a run scored.
Over on the Pirates’ side, they’re going with Jordan Lyles on Wednesday. In his 17.0 innings and 2-0 record this season, Lyles has a 0.53 ERA with 18 Ks and five walks.
Pittsburgh had a few chances in Tuesday’s loss, but couldn’t put it together. Gregory Polanco put up two hits in that one, and Francisco Cervelli logged a double and an RBI.
The Diamondbacks are 7-15 in their last 22 Wednesday games and 1-6 in their last seven in game three of a series. The under is 4-0-1 in Arizona’s last five in game three of a series and 8-2 in their last 10 Wednesday games.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are 6-2 in their last eight Wednesday games and the under is 7-2 in their last nine Wednesday games. The under is also 19-7 in Pittsburghs last 26 in game three of a series.
Kelly started out the year with a pair of quality outings, allowing four earned on nine hits in 15.0 innings—but he still took a tough-luck loss to Boston 1-0 on April 7. Since then, Kelly has given up seven earned in 8.2 innings.
Lyles on the other hand has been dealing, and he’s given up just one earned so far this year. I like Lyles to keep it going, so I’m going to take Pittsburgh here.
