The Pittsburgh Pirates shoot for another win against the visiting Miami Marlins on Wednesday.

The Miami Marlins are just having a difficult time getting both their arms and bats on the same page. That trend continued in a 5-1 defeat at PNC Park Tuesday with starter Jose Urena getting hit hard. Urena was charged with all five runs on ten hits over 4.2 frames to fall to 0-2 before three relievers put up zeros. The Fish mustered six hits and walked five times with Martin Prado driving in Dee Gordon with the only run while Christian Yelich was 2-4 with a pair of singles. The Marlins have hinted that  Brad Hand is the starter Wednesday but it’s not confirmed.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have been getting solid efforts on the mound and at the plate and the result has been positive. The Pirates were strong in both areas once again in Tuesday’s win which was number five in a row. Starter Jeff Locke took care of business with four hits and four walks allowed through 5.2 scoreless innings to improve to 3-2. The Buccos produced ten hits and a base on balls with Neil Walker clubbing a two run homer while Josh Harrison went 2-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. The Pittsburgh Pirates send ace Gerrit Cole to the hill to face the Marlins in Wednesday action. Cole is coming off of his best outing of 2015 in a 4-1 win versus the Mets with an unearned run and ten strikeouts over 8.1 innings.

Miami are 2-9 in their last 11 overall and are 2-9 in their last 11 games on grass while the under is 7-2 in their last 9 overall. Pittsburgh are 2-7 in their last 9 Wednesday games and  are 16-5 in Cole’s last 21 home starts while going 19-7 in Cole’s last 26 starts. If Brad Hand is starting I see the Pirates as sizeable favorites and if the line is much above -160 I would play this on the -1 RL…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
