The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers face off on Wednesday at AT&T Park in game two of their MLB series of NL West rivals.
The San Francisco Giants once again worked their magic over the Dodgers getting the win on Tuesday. Joe Panik and Angel Pagan each had two hits and Buster Posey added a hit as the Giants scored two runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Tim Hudson allowed five hits and struck out two over 6.1 innings to get the win to go to 2-3 for the season and Santiago Casilla earned his 10th save. For Wednesday’s game the Giants start Tim Lincecum who has allowed 34 hits and 11 earned runs while striking out 32 over 40.2 innings for a 3-2 record and a 2.43 ERA.
The Los Angeles Dodgers lead the NL West but they dropped a game on Tuesday losing to the Giants. Adrian Gonzalez, Jimmy Rollins, and Andre Ethier each had hits as the Dodgers failed to score on seven hits. Starting pitcher Carlos Frias allowed seven hits and a run while striking out three over 6.0 innings to take the loss and fall to 3-1 for the season. Starting pitcher Brett Anderson allowed 42 hits and 14 earned runs while striking out 24 over 36 innings for a 2-1 record and a 3.50 ERA.
San Francisco is 8-0 as a home underdog, 10-3 against a left-handed starter, and 2-8 in Lincecums last 10 starts in game two of a series. Los Angeles is 5-0 in game two of a series, 36-15 following a loss, and 4-1 in Anderson’s last five starts as a favorite. The Dodgers are 2-6 in their last eight games against San Francisco.
I can see another low scoring game and my free pick in this one is going to be on the under. My stronger play is on the winning side and IU will post that in the Premium Area as well as the App.
