Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants meet Wednesday in MLB action at AT&T Park.

The Miami Marlins look for a victory here after winning six of their last nine games. The Marlins have scored 12 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last 10 games. The Miami Marlins have won five of their last seven games when scoring more than three runs. Brian Anderson leads the Marlines with 82 hits and 35 RBI while Starlin Castro and Derek Dietrich have combined for 147 hits and 50 RBI. Jose Urena gets the ball, and he is 2-8 with a 4.18 ERA and 70 strikeouts this season. Urena is 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA and six strikeouts in his career against the Giants.

The San Francisco Giants have a chance to win back-to-back games for the first time since June 6-8. The Giants have scored 14 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last nine games. The San Francisco Giants have won five of their last nine games when scoring more than three runs. Brandon Crawford leads the Marlins with 78 hits and 32 RBI while Andrew McCutchen and Buster Posey have combined for 138 hits and 59 RBI. Derek Holland gets the ball, and he is 4-7 with a 4.48 ERA and 64 strikeouts this season. This will be Holland’s second career game against the Marlins.

The Marlins are 4-1 in their last 5 Wednesday games, 2-5 in Urenas last 7 road starts and 4-18 in Urenas last 22 starts. The Giants are 5-1 in their last 6 during game 3 of a series, 7-2 in their last 9 home games and 1-4 in their last 5 vs. National League East The Marlins are 19-7 in the last 26 meetings in San Francisco, 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and the over is 25-10 in the last 35 meetings.

As I said yesterday, the San Francisco Giants can't afford to keep losing games to lesser teams if they're going to stay in the NL West or even the wild card race. The blown saves and the simply not showing up against some of the bottom feeders is the reason the Giants have lost grown the last few weeks. Urena has had horrible luck with the Marlins this season, and Holland has had his moments as of late and has been improved. This is another game the Giants should and need to win. I'll lay the reasonable price.

Pick:
San Francisco Giants -145
