|Date & Time||Sunday June 3, 2018, 4:05 PM (EDT)|
The Line: San Francisco Giants +112 / Philadelphia Phillies -122 --- Over/Under: 8
AT&T Park will come alive once again on Sunday as the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants finish up their MLB series.
In the Friday opener, the Giants secured a 4-0 win. On Saturday, San Francisco made it two with a 2-0 victory.
For the Sunday game, the Phillies will be bringing out RHP Jake Arrieta. In his 58.1 innings and 5-2 record this year, Arrieta has a 2.16 ERA with 40 Ks and 19 BBs.
Leading the way for the Phillies on offense this year is Odubel Herrera with 63 hits, 25 runs and 32 RBI coming into the weekend. On Saturday, Herrera came up empty.
Over on the Giants’ side, they’re rolling with Dereck Rodriguez on Sunday. Across 3.1 innings and a 2.70 ERA, Rodriguez has four Ks and one BB.
Leading the way for the Giants coming into game two was Brandon Crawford with 61 hits, 24 RBI and 24 runs. On Saturday, Crawford managed one hit.
The Phillies are 1-4 in their last five Sunday games and 1-4 in their last five games versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. The under is 16-6-2 in Philly’s last 24 Sunday games and the over is 16-6-4 in their last 26 in game three of a series.
Meanwhile, the Giants are 5-1 in their last six Sunday games and the over is 4-0 in their last four during game three of a series. San Francisco is also 9-4 in their last 14 home games and 1-4 in their last six versus the NL East.
Arrieta has been pitching well lately (and all this year, really), with zero earned in three of his last four outings and four quality starts in his last five. We’ve seen very little of Rodriguez (one appearance), but it seems like he’s got reasonably good stuff. Still, I have to go Phillies here.
