The Line: Seattle Mariners -185 / Colorado Rockies +174 --- Over/Under: 7.5
The Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners meet Saturday in MLB action at Safeco Field.
The Colorado Rockies look to stay hot after winning seven of their last eight games. The Rockies have scored 16 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last eight games. The Colorado Rockies have won 11 of their last 15 games when scoring at least one run. Nolan Arenado leads the Rockies with 97 hits and 63 RBI while Trevor Story and Charlie Blackmon have combined for 188 hits and 99 RBI. Kyle Freeland gets the ball, and he is 8-6 with a 3.25 ERA and 84 strikeouts this season. This will be Freeland’s second career game against the Mariners.
The Seattle Mariners look for a bounce back wi after winning 10 of their last 13 games. The Mariners have scored nine runs in their last three games and four or more runs in nine of their last 13 games. The Seattle Mariners have won nine of their last 10 games when scoring more than one run. Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 113 hits and 46 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 179 hits and 83 RBI. James Paxton gets the ball, and he is 8-2 with a 3.39 ERA and 145 strikeouts this season. Paxton is 1-1 with a 2.16 ERA and 10 strikeouts in his career against the Rockies.
The Rockies are 1-6 in their last 7 Saturday games, 18-40 in their last 58 interleague road games and 4-1 in Freelands last 5 interleague starts. The Mariners are 21-5 in their last 26 home games, 19-7 in their last 26 Saturday games and 5-1 in Paxtons last 6 starts. The Rockies are 4-9 in the last 13 meetings and the under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings in Seattle.
This price is rather crazy when you consider the Colorado Rockies are playing some of their best baseball of the season and Freeland has been rather impressive, allowing seven hits and two runs in his last 14 innings. Freeland has been extremely good pitching a hitters friendly park, so he should be fine pitching in Seattle. Yes, Paxton has been great in his own right and the Mariners have been a money making machine for the last month, but the value is with the Rockies here. Freeland shouldn't be this big of a dog.
