The Kansas City Royals and Seattle Mariners meet Sunday in MLB action at
The Kansas City Royals are desperate for a victory after losing 14 of their last 17 games. The Royals have allowed 14 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in 10 of their last 13 games. The Kansas City Royals have lost 20 of their last 21 games when allowing at least one run. Offensively, Whit Merrifield leads the Royals with 88 hits and 24 RBI while Mike Moustakas and Jorge Soler have combined for 140 hits and 81 RBI. Brad Keller gets the ball, and he is 2-2 with a 2.25 ERA and 30 strikeouts this season. This will be Keller’s second career game against the Mariners.
The Seattle Mariners look to stay hot while building on their six-game winning streak. The Mariners have scored 14 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in seven of their last nine games. The Seattle Mariners have won seven straight games when scoring at last one run. Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 108 hits and 45 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 172 hits and 82 RBI. James Paxton gets the ball, and he is 7-2 with a 3.65 ERA and 134 strikeouts this season. Paxton is 2-0 with a 2.54 ERA and 30 strikeouts in his career against the Royals.
The Royals are 19-39 in their last 58 during game 3 of a series, 1-4 in their last 5 road games and 0-4 in their last 4 Sunday games. The Mariners are 19-7 in their last 26 home games, 16-5 in their last 21 vs. American League Central and 4-1 in Paxtons last 5 starts. The Royals are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Seattle, 2-5 in the last 7 meetings and the under is 4-1 in Paxtons last 5 starts vs. Royals.
I know the Seattle Mariners are the kings of winning close games this season, but I'm not making a case for the Royals just because the juice is high. The Kansas City Royals are simply an awful baseball team and losing 20 of their last 21 games when allowing a single run is incredible. Paxton has quietly been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. There's little reason to think the Mariners winning streak is going to end here. Give me the RL to add value to the wager.
