The Los Angeles Angels look to keep the ball rolling after winning seven of their last nine games. The Angels have scored 11 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last 10 games. The Los Angeles Angels have won nine of their last 11 games when scoring more than two runs. Andrelton Simmons leads the Angels with 71 hits and 34 RBI while Mike Trout and Justin Upton have combined for 131 hits and 79 RBI. Andrew Heaney gets the ball, and he is 3-4 with a 3.12 ERA and 58 strikeouts this season. Heaney is 1-1 with a 2.35 ERA and 14 strikeouts in his career against the Mariners.
The Seattle Mariners also look to stay hot after winning eight of their last 10 games. The Mariners have scored 12 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in five of their last six games. The Seattle Mariners have won seven of their last 10 games when scoring more than three runs. Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 88 hits and 40 RBI while Mitch Haniger and Dee Gordon have combined for 126 hits and 62 RBI. Wade LeBlanc gets the ball, and he is 1-0 with a 2.94 ERA and 38 strikeouts this season. This will be LeBlanc’s first career game against the Angels.
The Angels are 4-1 in their last 5 Monday games, 1-7 in Heaneys last 8 road starts and 5-12 in Heaneys last 17 starts. The Mariners are 6-0 in their last 6 during game 1 of a series, 10-0 in LeBlancs last 10 home starts and 10-2 in LeBlancs last 12 starts. The Angels are 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Seattle, 5-2 in the last 7 meetings and the over is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings.
Heaney has had really strong moments for the Angels this season and is fresh off a complete game shutout over the Kansas City Royals. The problem is Heaney has also had trouble stringing together consistent performances, as he's had his fair share of rocky starts as well. LeBlanc has been one of the better pitchers in baseball this season, allowing three or less runs in his last nine games and the Mariners have won five of the last seven games in which he's pitched. The Seattle Mariners have also been one of the tougher teams over the last three weeks to bet against, as they've been on fire since the Robinson Cano incident. I'll gladly take the M's and this price.
