The Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Angels face off on Friday in game one of their final series of the 2014 regular season.
The Seattle Mariners are 2.5 games back in the American League Wildcard race and with three games left to play they are running put f chances. The Mariners are 38-40 at home, 4-6 in their last 10 games, and they are coming off of a win on Thursday in a tough series in Toronto. As a team the Mariners are hitting .253 with Robinson Cano hitting .318, Kyle Seager hitting .271, and Dustin Ackley hitting .245. For game one against the Angels the Mariners start Hisashi Iwakuma who has lost his last three starts. For the season Iwakuma has allowed 163 hits and 68 earned runs while striking out 150 over 172.2 innings for a 14-9 record and a 3.54 ERA.
The Los Angeles Angels have long since clinched the American League West and now they are just trying to post the best record in baseball. The Angels are 46-32 on the road, 5-5 in their last 10 games, and they have won their last two games. As a tem the Angels are hitting .261 with Howie Kendrick hitting .292, Mike Trout hitting .290, and Erick Aybar hitting .281. For game one in Seattle the Angels start Jered Weaver who is 18-8 with a 3.52 ERA for the season and he is 3-0 with a 3.15 ERA in his last three starts.

Normally I would like Iwakuma here but the M’s have just been awful down the stretch so my play is the Angels.
