The Line: Minnesota Twins -137 / Seattle Mariners +127 -- Over/Under: 9
The Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners meet Saturday in MLB action at T-Mobile Park.
The Minnesota Twins look to stay hot after winning 10 of their last 14 games. The Twins have scored 26 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in nine of their last 12 games. The Minnesota Twins have won 14 of their last 15 games when scoring four or more runs. Jorge Polanco leads the Twins with 55 hits and 20 RBI while Eddie Rosario and Jonathan Schoop have combined for 81 hits and 53 RBI. Jose Berrios gets the ball, and he is 6-2 with a 3.05 ERA and 54 strikeouts this season. Berrios is 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA and 21 strikeouts in his career against the Mariners.
The Seattle Mariners need a win after losing six of their last eight games. The Mariners have scored 11 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in six of their last 10 games. The Seattle Mariners have split their last eight games when scoring four or more runs. Domingo Santana leads the Mariners with 49 hits and 37 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 86 hits and 43 RBI. Wade LeBlanc gets the ball, and he is 2-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 12 strikeouts this season. LeBlanc is 0-0 with a 1.26 ERA and 11 strikeouts in his career against the Twins.
The Twins are 7-1 in their last 8 Saturday games, 5-1 in their last 6 during game 3 of a series and 5-1 in Berrios' last 6 starts. The Mariners are 4-12 in their last 16 home games, 17-5 in LeBlanc's last 22 home starts and 24-11 in LeBlanc's last 35 starts. The Twins are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings and the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings. The over is 7-0 in LeBlanc's last 7 home starts. The over is 5-2 in Berrios' last 7 road starts.
I said yesterday that the Mariners are fade material until they get their act together, and they did nothing in Friday's loss to change my mind. LeBlanc has a ton of success with the M's, especially at home, but he has just 16 innings under his belt this season and hasn't pitched in over a month due to an oblique injury. The Minnesota Twins continue to show up offensively and Berrios has been solid for the most part, allowing three or less runs in seven of his nine starts. I'll back the Twins again here.
