The Minnesota Twins could use a victory here after losing six of their last nine games. The Twins have scored five runs in their last three games and three or less runs in seven of their last 12 games. The Minnesota Twins have lost 11 of their last 13 games when scoring three or less runs. Eddie Rosario leads the Twins with 54 hits and 29 RBI while Brian Dozier and Eduardo Escobar have combined for 92 hits and 41 RBI. Jose Berrios gets the ball, and he is 5-4 with a 3.82 ERA and 59 strikeouts this season. Berrios is 1-1 with a 4.97 ERA and 13 strikeouts in his career against the Mariners.
The Seattle Mariners look to keep the ball rolling after winning nine of their last 12 games. The Mariners have allowed eight runs in their last three games and four or less runs in each of their last nine games. The Seattle Mariners have won 10 of their last 13 games when allowing four or less runs. Offensively, Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 69 hits and 34 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 117 hits and 50 RBI. Mike Leake gets the ball, and he is 4-3 with a 5.46 ERA and 37 strikeouts this season. Leake is 1-0 with a 5.82 ERA and 10 strikeouts in his career against the Twins.
The Twins are 4-1 in their last 5 during game 3 of a series, 5-1 in Berrios' last 6 Sunday starts and 3-12 in Berrios' last 15 road starts. The Mariners are 4-0 in their last 4 home games, 4-12 in their last 16 Sunday games and 4-1 in Leakes last 5 starts. The Twins are 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Seattle and the under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
Berrios has been good this season overall, but he's been hit hard on the road where he has an ERA over five and six allowed homers in 24.1 innings. Leake has had a rough season damn near all year, but he's coming off one of his better performances of the season and the Mariners have won his last three starts regardless. Also, the Seattle Mariners have caught fire since the Robinson Cano incident, as there's a certain swagger with this club right now, and a walkoff win last night is only going to add to that confidence. Give me the M's for the sweep.
