The Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners meet Sunday in MLB action at Safeco Field.

The Toronto Blue Jays look for another victory after splitting their last 10 games. The Blue Jays have scored 19 runs in their last three games and five or more runs in seven of their last 10 games. The Toronto Blue Jays have won five of their last six games when scoring more than three runs. Yangervis Solarte leads the Blue Jays with 97 hits and 53 RBI while Justin Smoak and Teoscar Hernandez have combined for 179 hits and 97 RBI. Sam Gaviglio gets the ball, and he is 2-4 with a 5.10 ERA and 67 strikeouts this season. This will be Gaviglio’s first career game against the Mariners.

The Seattle Mariners could use a victory here in order to snap a five-game losing streak. The Mariners have allowed 19 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in eight of their last nine games. The Seattle Mariners have lost eight of their last 10 games when allowing at least one run. Offensively, Jean Segura leads the Mariners with 131 hits and 51 RBI while Dee Gordon and Mitch Haniger have combined for 222 hits and 91 RBI. Mike Leake gets the ball, and he is 8-7 with a 4.16 ERA and 81 strikeouts this season. Leake is 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA and 15 strikeouts in his career against the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays are 7-3 in their last 10 Sunday games, 1-5 in Gaviglios last 6 road starts and 1-4 in Gaviglios last 5 starts. The Mariners are 5-1 in their last 6 during game 4 of a series, 5-1 in Leakes last 6 starts vs. American League East and 1-4 in Leakes last 5 starts. The Blue Jays are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Seattle and 12-4 in the last 16 meetings.

I've picked the Seattle Mariners every game this series and they've lost badly. All those close games the Mariners won in the first half of the season, they're losing now. The offense isn't showing up and the pitching staff has been getting rocked all second half of the season. I'm still not high on the Toronto Blue Jays, and it's tough to complete a four game sweep of anybody, but at some point you have to wash your hands with a team after they burn you so many times. Give me the plus money.

Pick:
Toronto Blue Jays +140
