Game two of the MLB set between the Colorado Rockies and the St. Louis Cardinals is coming our way Tuesday from Busch Stadium.

In the Monday game, the Rockies banged out a 5-4 win in 10 innings after coming back from four runs down.

For Tuesday’s matchup, the Rockies will be sending out RHP Jon Gray. In his 106.1 innings and 8-7 mark this year, Gray has a 5.16 ERA with 131 Ks and 32 BBs.

Colorado’s top hitter coming into this set was Charlie Blackmon, with 116 hits, 78 runs, 20 homers and 47 RBI. On Monday, Blackmon had a hit and a run.

Over on the Cardinals’ side, they’re going with Jack Flaherty on Tuesday. Across 85.0 innings and a 4-5 record this year, Flaherty has a 3.28 ERA with 104 Ks and 30 BBs.

Coming out of the weekend, Marcell Ozuna led the Cards in hitting on 106 hits, 41 runs, 12 homers and 57 RBI. On Monday, Ozuna hit a solo homer and plated two runs.

The Rockies are 8-0 in the last eight in game two of a series and 6-0 in Gray’s last six starts in game two of a series. Colorado is also 4-0 in Gray’s last four starts and 8-18 in his last 26 starts with five days’ rest.

Meanwhile, the Cards are 4-1 in the last five Tuesday games and 1-6 in Flaherty’s last seven starts. St. Louis is also 1-4 in Flaherty’s last five starts in game two of a series and 1-6 in his last seven starts on grass.

Gray had a couple of stumbles back in June, but in his July starts he’s been solid, posting 14.1 innings and two earned in those two games. Flaherty, meanwhile, has gone 5.0 innings in each of his last three starts, putting up a combined four earned on eight hits. This should be a decent pitching matchup, but I have to go with the more consistent Rockies for the win here.
