Coming our way Tuesday from Busch Stadium, the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals will be continuing their MLB series.

In Monday’s opener, Milwaukee eked out a 5-4 victory in 10 innings. St. Louis tied it up in the ninth but couldn’t get anything going in the final frame.

For the Tuesday matchup, the Brewers will be bringing out lefty Brent Suter in the start. In his 10.0 innings and 1-1 record this year, Suter has a 6.30 ERA with nine Ks.

Coming into this series, the Brewers’ lead hitter was Lorenzo Cain with 12 hits, five RBI, a homer and four runs. In the Monday game, Cain went 1-for-5 and Travis Shaw managed two hits and three runs.

Over on the Cardinals’ side, they’re going with RHP Carlos Martinez on Tuesday. In his 12.2 innings so far this season, Martinez has a 2.84 ERA with 15 Ks.

Heading up the Cards’ offense coming into this series was Marcell Ozuna with 12 hits, four runs and five RBI. On Monday, Ozuna provided two hits and two RBI.

The Brewers are 4-0 in their last four Tuesday games and 13-5 in their last 18 during game two of a series. Milwaukee is also 7-1 in Suter’s last eight starts and 4-1 in his last five starts with four days of rest.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals are 5-1 in their last six Tuesday games and 19-8 in the last 27 during game two of a series. St. Louis is also 5-1 in Martinez’s last six starts in game two of a series and 4-1 in his last five home starts.

This could potentially be a series that the Cardinals can take if they get some good innings from their starters and a decent contribution from their offense. The SP issue should be okay here with Martinez on the mound, so that means the tepid St. Louis hitters will have to step up. I’m not totally convinced of that—even though the Cards offense has been better than I thought it would be at this point—so I’m going Brewers in this one.
