Tampa Bay Rays -260 / Baltimore Orioles +220 O/U: 8
The Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Rays will meet up on the MLB circuit Tuesday to kick off their three-game set.
For the Tuesday opener, Baltimore will be sending out Dylan Bundy for the start. Over his 12.1 innings and 0-1 record this year, Bundy has an 8.76 ERA with 17 Ks and seven walks.
Leading the Orioles offensively is Trey Mancini, who sports a .343 average with 23 hits, 17 runs, six homers and 12 RBI. Jonathan Villar is close behind with a .300 BA, 21 hits, 13 runs, three homers and nine RBI.
Over on the Rays’ side, they’re going with Tyler Glasnow on Tuesday. Across 17.0 innings and a 3-0 record on the season, Glasnow has a nice 0.53 ERA with 21 Ks and three walks.
Tampa’s top hitter this year is Austin Meadows with 20 hits, eight runs, six homers and 17 RBI. Avisail Garcia comes in second on a .314 BA, 16 hits, six runs, a homer and four RBI thus far.
The Orioles are 16-35 in their last 51 Tuesday games and 10-27 in Bundy’s last 37 starts. Baltimore is 1-7 in Bundy’s last eight road starts and 0-5 in his last five Tuesday starts.
Meanwhile, the Rays are 4-0 in their last four in game one of a series and 4-1 in their last five versus the AL East. Tampa is 12-5 in their last 17 Tuesday games and 40-15 in their last 55 overall.
Bundy has yet to put together a decent start, as he allowed three earned in 3.2 innings over each of his first two, then dropped six earned in 5.0 innings on seven hits versus Oakland his last time up.
As for Glasnow, he (like most of the Rays team) has looked incredibly sharp over his first three starts, allowing only the one earned run on March 30 versus Houston.
The way both these teams are going, I don’t see too many reasons to take the Orioles here—unless you want to value-pick it on the off-chance Tampa has a bad day. Otherwise it’s all Rays, so hop on the bandwagon because they are completely ruling this division right now.
